Stage 1. Correct cross in the first layer

We divide the assembly of the correct cross into two steps; the first step is the “flower”, which then turns into a correct cross in step 2.

Flower

To create a flower we need to find all 4 white edges and raise them to the yellow center. It’s very easy to do. You can do this intuitively and move straight to the next step.

1. If we see white color on the middle layer, then we simply raise it with the movement R. We do this with all the edges on the middle layer.

2. If there is an edge on the middle layer, but another part prevents it from being placed, we move the interfering part away with the movement U and put the one we need in its place with the movement R.

The details on the middle layer are gone. Let’s go to the bottom one.
3. If the part we need looks down in white, then we simply lift it with two R movements, which is written R2 in the formulas.

4. If the part is on the top or bottom layer and looks white at you, then you first need to move the part to the middle layer with the F movement, and then put the part from the middle layer in its place (if it is occupied by another part, move it away using a U or U’ movement).

Cross

It is very simple and in just a few movements you can turn a flower into a regular cross.

We look at the flower and pay attention to the color of the rib. Select any of the edges, combine it with the center of the same color and lower it down (do the F2 movement). We do this one by one with all the ribs.

When the edges run out, we turn the whole cube over and see that the white regular cross has been assembled. Please note that the color of the edges in the cross must match the colors of the centers. If you end up with the wrong cross, try again!

Stage 2. First layer

Corners of the first layer – the first layer is assembled!

Angles

1. Next we will collect the corners (3 colors on the element), in the end we should get the whole first layer. But first, we will learn a very simple but effective formula, which consists of four movements R U R’ U’, and in simple words: up-left-down-right.

Move our assembled correct cross down and look for a corner on the top layer with a white color.

If, for example, the corner is green-red, then you need to place it between the green and red center and perform R U R’ U’, and in simple words: up-left-down-right

Depending on the situation, R U R’ U’ has to be performed from 1 to 5 times, if for example the corner looks white up, then 3 times R U R’ U’

If you notice that the corner is in its place, but it also needs to be unfolded, we use R U R’ U’. Twist until the corner is just right.

But, if you are suddenly unlucky and the corners with white color run out on the top layer, you need to knock out the corner that is in the wrong place with one R U R’ U’ and then arrange it in the usual way.

Stage 3. Middle layer

Middle or second layer

To assemble the second layer, you need to place the ribs from the top layer to the middle one in turn. To do this, we need to learn the formula L’ U’ L U or in other words with our left hand we do up-right-down-left

The edge goes to the right

We pay special attention to colors. For example, let’s take a green-red edge. We bring it and put it in red to the red center and hold the cube in red towards us. Do U R U R’ U’➪L’ U’ L U ➪ means intercepting the cube to the right. In our case, the green center will be in front of us. In words, the formula will sound like this: U R U R’ U’, interception to the right, L’ U’ L U

The edge goes to the left

If you substituted a green-red edge to the green center, then we can notice that the edge this time goes to the left. So we will do U’ L’ U’ L U⇦ R U R’ U’ ⇦ means intercepting the cube to the left. In our case, the red center will be in front of us. In words, the formula will sound like this: U’ L’ U’ L U, interception to the left, R U R’ U’.

The edge are over

If you are unlucky and the top layer runs out of the necessary edges, and the second layer is not assembled, no problem! We place the incorrectly assembled edge on the right and do R U R’ U’➪L’ U’ L U In words it sounds like this: R U R’ U’, interception to the right L’ U’ L U and then we usually place the edges.

Stage 4. Cross in the last layer

Yellow cross

The sequence of creating a yellow cross is as follows: point → half of the cross (nine o’clock) → stick → cross. You may already have a whole cross on your cube. But you’re not always so lucky. Sometimes you end up with one sad dot that needs to be gradually turned into a cross.

Whatever figure you have, do F R U R’ U’ F’. Please note that if you have a “half cross”, then you need to hold it at 9 o’clock, so that one arrow points to the left and the other points up. And if it’s a stick, then hold it horizontally and only then do the algorithm. If initially you had a point, then it will turn into half a cross, if there was half a cross, then they will turn into a stick, and if it’s a stick, then into a cross. Attention! If you have 1 or 3 elements looking up at the same time and you don’t see any of the figures shown, your cube could be disassembled into parts and assembled incorrectly (accidentally or as a joke). In this case, you will not solve the cube using the formulas. We strongly recommend that you disassemble the cube into parts and assemble it by color mechanically.

Correct yellow cross

The resulting cross may be incorrect. We need to make sure that all the colors on the edges of the cross (3 layers) coincide with the centers. Attention, we can only have three situations: 1. the ribs coincide next to each other 2. the ribs coincide opposite 3. you are lucky and the cross is immediately correct or you just need to tighten the top layer.

1. the edges coincide next to each other. If these two edges are adjacent, put them on the right and behind, and do the formula R U R’ U R U2 R’ U and you should get the correct cross (the color of the edges of the cross coincides with the centers.

2. edges coincide oppositely If these two edges coincide oppositely, put them in front of us and behind us, and do the formula R U R’ U R U2 R’ and you should get the previous situation (Nearby).

Stage 5. Last layer

Arrangement of corners of the third layer

First you need to check how many corners are in place. It’s either all, 1 corner or none. If all the corners are in place, skip this stage and move on to the next one. The corners can look yellow in any direction. The main thing is that the orange-green corner should be between the orange and green centers, the green-red corner should be between green and red, etc. If there are no such angles, then we make the algorithm: R U’ L’ U R’ U’ L U After executing the algorithm, 1 correct angle should appear. We place it on the left and on top (where the left thumb is) and do the same algorithm. If nothing works, put it again in the upper left point and repeat. Attention! If you only have 2 or 3 elements in their place, your cube was disassembled into parts and assembled incorrectly. You cannot assemble a cube from such a state using formulas. Take the cube apart and assemble it by color mechanically. When all the corners are in place, all that remains is to unfold them to completely assemble the cube.

Last step. Rotate corners

We will turn the corners using a simple formula that you already know very well! R U R’ U’ Check again to make sure all the corners are in place. Intercept the cube so that the corners that need to be assembled are from below.

We start from any unassembled corner and make R U R’ U’ until the corner is assembled. Then we twist the bottom layer and insert the next unexpanded corner. We continue to do R U R’ U’ until the 2nd corner is completed and so on. (ATTENTION! If the corner has already been assembled, bang-bang still needs to be completed to the end, and only then proceed to the next one). When you unfold all the corners, the cube will be completed, do not forget to complete the last movement. Warning This is where it is easiest to stumble somewhere. Therefore, be careful, otherwise the cube will have to be reassembled.
